The following information was written in a question/answer format to represent the avalanche of questions that a middle school band director might receive from inquiring minds. Any sarcasm is intended as a joke.

This is a required performance for members of the Football Band. We will attend a Niceville HS football game and perform alongside Eagle Pride and the Lewis Band.

This is our REQUIRED first-semester concert for all 6th-8th grade band members. Concert Order: Jazz, Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, Honor

This is an optional field trip with limited availability to watch a band concert at Florida State University

Concert for members of the 5th Grade Band and Honor Band mentors

For students who audition and are accepted into the Okaloosa County Honor Band

Ram Rally is a required performance for Honor Band members. We will perform for the rising 6th graders in a “mini pep rally” to showcase all things Ruckel has to offer. See timeline attached

MPA is an annual assessment for school music programs. This is our FAST testing equivalent. Admission is free and parents are encouraged to come listen as they are evaluated by state-certified adjudicators. This performance is for Intermediate, Advanced and Honor Band and is required.

Open to all 6th-8th grade Ruckel Band students willing to put in extra time and preparation, Solo & Ensemble is a great opportunity to perform in a small group or individually for a judge to receive professional feedback.
